Impressed by the promising projects that were initiated through ZIM funding by primarily small SMEs in the networks, BMWi Head of Unit Carmen Heidecke presented an overview of the programmes that will end at the close of 2014 with current funding grants of Euro 3.1 billion, of which Euro 89 million is earmarked for textile research. Going into more detail on the future of ZIM, Heidecke pointed out that the coalition agreement states that ZIM is to be continued after 2014 in order to facilitate even more innovation from SMEs.
